US Students Try Chinese Farming

A group of 16 high school students and three teachers from the United States recently tried farming in Pangliu Village, Xian, Capital Shaanxi Provence.

The group of teachers and students, ages 14 to 17, arrived the Sunday before last for three days of living with rural families, working with them, and teaching them a little English.

Woman Faints when ‘Spiderman’ Drops In

A woman had the fright of her life when a “spiderman” appeared on her balcony in a 26 storey apartment block in Chingqing Municipality, causing her to faint.

When she came around, the man was standing beside apologizing profusely.

The man and his girlfriend share an apartment with the woman. The man pulled the stunt to scare his girlfriend after an argument.

Anxious Jobseekers Wait By The Telephone

Many young jobseekers, mostly university graduates from Chingqing Municipality, are waiting anxiously by the phone in anticipation of job offers.

‘I feel like my phone might ring at any moment since I began looking for a job.” said Song, a university graduate. And many of his peers agreed it was an anxious time.

One psychologist said jobseekers should talk to friends of family members to relieve the stress of looking for work.

Boys Turns Yellow After Eating Too Many Oranges

An 11 year old boy turned a yellowish color after eating too many oranges in Chongqing Municipality recently.

The boy’s mother took him to several local hospitals, but none were able to get to the bottom of his skin colour.

He was later diagnosed with carotenemia when his mother divulged that he had eaten two or three kilograms of oranges every day last week.

The boy was told his skin colour should return to normal once he cut down his intake of oranges.
